the cotbook is a support rating and identification for libraries and archives, without risk of damage for your books

Sensitized heritage conservation, I designed (in collaboration with a professional bookbinder, "Au fil du livre"), a product to list and identify the works of libraries and archives without degrading them.

Indeed, the adhesives used to apply labels prove harmful because they distort and destroy the book, for example: paper cover bound books, leather and gilt bound books both old and contemporary.

Also, it became obvious to design a support of chemically neutral, independent and yet able to adapt morphologically to all documents while allowing for quick retrieval on shelves.

it positions himself astride one page, preferably in the middle of the book.

Properties Cotbook:

Guarantee conservation: The Cotbook is manufactured in a cellulosic material of 300 g / m², acid-free, according to ISO 9706 and mildew resistant by the addition of fungicide.
It stays in place when one leafs through the book.
It fits on any book of old and new which must be conserved.
Easy to implement: just write on or stick a label and (or) the barcode on the protruding part of the book.
Its V-shaped notch has a width studied in order to avoid shearing and thus a mark on the pages regardless of the nature of the paper.
A notch prevents the sheet rubs against the cap during handling.
It can serve as a form of loan upon the system used by libraries and archives.
It provides good visibility in the collections, thus reducing manipulations.

Another possible product variation: extend the head and (or) the foot to adapt to individual needs

With a patent pending, the Cotbook has already been adopted by many libraries and archives in France.
